Scott is known for his foundational work in establishing permaculture movement in the US Southwest, for which he received a Community Achievement Award from the Permaculture Institute of Australia.

Our permaculture training is based on the original certification course developed by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. The course meets all requirements for certification. Course is focused on classroom and field learning of large scale ecological restoration, water harvesting, natural building, renewable energies, waste management, food production and animal husbandry. At Sustainable Settings, ranch animals, small-scale organic farm and natural buildings offer additional learning and participation opportunities. Prepare for intense days, filled with class time, outdoor work, stimulating conversation and hands-on experiences. Daily hour-long rotational chores will include: animal care, land and garden help, sacred spaces help (classrooms, bathrooms...), and kitchen duty.

This class is recommended for landscape architects, community activists, land owners, college students, land-based practitioners, farmers, designers, policy makers and people of all walks of life. Our classes draw attendees of all ages and professional backgrounds.
